Brute speaks in lofty tones about Carmel and those who visit there; in last letter he speaks of his new assignment (Vincennes) where he will be Bishop; its mission needs: particularly for Germans, though French missionaries speak German. He remembers "good Mother Dickinson" and how he used to say mass at Port Tobacco and Aisquith. "Faith, faith is all." Asks for prayers for Vincennes. Mentions its poverty, etc. The Wilcoxes (daughters) of New York. Speaks of eternity.
