Fr Farley, SJ, writes to Mother Seraphim concerning the Port Tobacco property: they have made advances; know approach and roadway; offer has been made; price set by owners; awaiting word from Archbishop; name of association and change. It is the last letter he writes. (Farley died 9/21/1934).
Joseph M. Nelligan's letter to John Farley recommending that Rev. Farley defer conclusive action on the property settlement on the Mt. Carmel land until the Fall when Archbishop Curley will be back.
Five letters from Michael J. Curley to John Farley, SJ, and Laurence Kelly, SJ, regarding the purchase of Sanders land in Port Tobacco. Curley strongly recommends that only the fives acres and "the little shacks on it" be purchased rather than one hundred and forty acres of Southern Maryland land "on which very probably a man would not be able to raise and umbrella!" An extract from Laurence Kelly's response is on the Oct 31 letter.
Copies of two letters from Mother Seraphim Byrnes: Oct 12, 1933 to John Farley, SJ, and Dec 12, 1933 to Isabelle Hagerty. The letters give a brief history of Mt. Carmel and an old list of receipts.
