Scope and Contents

This series consists of the news clippings or notes saved by the nuns during their residence at Aisquith Street. Some items are copies of newspaper clippings, in particular reflecting the riot of 1839 and its consequences. Notes from Rev. Louis Deluol's diary are also included in this series. Louis Deluol, S.S., was one of the most significant figures during this period of Sulpician history. He was superior of the American Sulpician community and taught theology, philosophy and Hebrew to the seminarians at St. Mary’s Seminary in Baltimore.
