Speaks of news of new house, Baltimore; addressed to Mrs. Mudd: "happy to hear you have bought a house...any prospects for sale of present house?" Expresses sorrow they have to keep school, advises they talk to Visitation nuns on how they do it; and talk about pensioners in the monastery at Lierre; 9/4/1833, sure S.Clare Joseph would have been delighted to see you free "from the Farm." Discuss rules concerning an "out Sister" whom intend to take on at that time; are glad they are comfortable, that the choir is built, school is flourishing, and have an increase in numbers; 9/20/1839, and 12/16/1840, there is talk of a Catholic college in England, mentions Bp...Mostyn...; 12/22/1849, re revolution in Rome...At convent of the Sacred Heart, nuns were to be put to death...mob came; then soldiers. But Sisters threw notes with miraculous medal prayer on it at rebels. They turned back. There is "nothing to be feared from this act of women" Another miracle recounted. feastdays of 1st class: Sacred Heart; 2nd, Heart of Bl. Lady; 6/14/1850: religion is thriving here; many converts. 5/11/1852: happiness: "to dismiss from school and at length enter completely the solitude of Carmel for which you have so long wished..."
