In first, Sister John relates that hardships have begun but they intend to persevere. "We're not coming home." Asks the to continue to draw Holy Cross billets and to remain in Apostleship of Prayer. They have heard from Hong Kong; in need of veils, breviaries. In second, John writes of S. Aloysius' back problems; beds are rattan. Teeth problems and rash. Speaks of Mother Mary Magdalen's coming; begins plans for it.

List of expenses incurred in connection with the transfer of Sisters Aloysius and John to the Carmel of Jaro and also their stay at Manila Carmel. Including $100 to Father William Masterson, SJ, who arranged for their boat passage and travelled with them as far as Manila. (He has just been appointment President of the Ateneo de Manila.) Total costs 6627.58.
