Written by one who remembered him: in him "we lost a father and a friend." He became their chaplain in 1835, at his request; because chapel badly needed, he offered $3,000; because not enough for "big enough" chapel, idea of a fair was conceived, another $3500 received. Enough to pay off debt. After erection of chapel and choir, he returned toFrance, left $5,000, the interest to be drawn annually; collected for the Carmelites in Europe, died there in 1839.
