Bp Carroll states that a young exiled nun wished to associate herself with the nuns and keep up her work of teaching, and mentions that he has gotten permission of Rome to let Carmelites teach; 2 the nuns "did not avail themselves... There was no need for negotiations were even then going on to introduce active Orders....; 3.not until 1832 (sic) that the nuns were forced by the direst poverty. You are not a stranger...
